OK I have to admit that I am not a huge Marvel movies fan but I do enjoy them. I loved the comics and loved the early movies but then it got bigger and interconnected and you had to watch this movie because it linked into that movie and then onto that one and my brain checked out and left them to it. It’s the old rule of OCD men once you buy one film of a franchise you have to own all the rest. That’s why men love boxsets. Anyway, this is a follow on from one of the other movies and it sets up the second part of the story which is the major and I major success. This was released in 2018 and was the nineteenth movie in the sequence which explains why I checked out a long time before. It was made on a reported budget of upwards of $400m and went on to gross $2.048 BILLION! I am not sure why I have to write billion in capitals but I do. With an Avengers movie there are always many many names to mentioned so some of them were - Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Josh Brolin, and Chris Pratt.

The plot is about the six Infinity Stones which gives the owner power over life and death. Thanos plans to kill half of all life in the universe, personally I feel for the butterflies! Seems like a legit aim for a bucket list. Well it starts with Thanos stopping the escaping spaceship from Asgard and Thanos defeats Thor and Hulk kills Loki and Heimdall and then destroys the ship. Hulk warns the others than Thanos wants to kill half the universe and who is going to save the bunny rabbits!! So, he warns Doctor Strange and Wong who tell Iron Man that they need to form a plan to save half the otters! Many of the other Averages are assembled (see what I did there?) and the Guardians of The Galaxy respond to the distress signal from the Asgard’s ship so now they are getting involved. The story then revolves around Thanos and his lieutenants stopping the gang and collecting the stone, they have little regard for those who currently have the stones and are just keen to get them for Thanos’ gauntlet of power. There is a series of missed opportunities as the avengers get their fingers on the stones or the gauntlet only to see it sleep away. You can see how this is going and there is little anyone can do about it either and I’m just a viewer.

OK enough spoilers but if you haven’t seen this movie then I am sorry to say which half of the universe you are in. This is a typical high budget, high octane, special effects driven glory of a movie thrill any marvel fan out there. Nearly all of them are in here and there maybe a little bit of them but they’ll be in here somewhere. So, the question is why the low score for such a rip snorter of a movie well this movie isn’t for me. This whole series has grown beyond me and I am not going to slate this movie or the franchise. It is made clear to me that this film isn’t made for me, its like many marvel movies its not for me and I don’t have a problem with that I know its not for me and doesn’t want my money. I get it! It won’t stop me enjoying a movie as long as its good and it won’t stop me from telling others its good but this one just wasn’t for me. It was good movie; you will enjoy it as well and the chances are you will probably enjoy it much more than me.
