#305 - Hollow Man - (72%)

This 2000 Sci-Fi Horror movie starred Elisabeth Shue, Kevin Bacon, Josh Brolin, Kim Dickens, Greg Grunberg, Joey Slotnick, Mary Randle & William Devane. It did barely scrape to a profit by using a $95m budget to gain $190m at the box office which on face value looks good but when you take promotion and marketing into account the producers may disagree with me calling it a triumph.

The story is about a rather arrogant scientist called Sebastian Caine (Bacon) who steadily progresses into complete madness. He with his team of scientific researchers (including his ex – Shue) have discovered a serum that turns him invisible. I assume they are working on the way to turn him back. Rather than do that he sneaks around and scares the other members of the team. The rest of the team become concerned that he is descending into madness. He is placed in quarantine but has been looping a film of the camera to sneak out of the complex and get up to who knows what. Things finally come to a head when the team finds out and completely turn against him but how do fight someone you cannot see.

Another movie I enjoyed but may not love. It is a good film and I don’t care about the haters out there I enjoyed this. The special effects of a wet invisible person were great. The crafty business of the main character and the research team trying to keep him under wraps when he is more interested in getting up to naughty business. I thought this was clever with great special effects and good to see another take on the whole invisible man story. Go enjoy!!
