#313 - Men In Black III - (72%)

Writer's picture: MyersMyers

The third Men in Black movie appears now with its highest count of movie mistakes in one scene award I remember from years ago. Tom scored it 68% (that is the Rotten Tom if you didn’t know) which matched the 6.8/10 from IMDb so we are almost all in agreement for the first time on this list. Budget was large for the time at $225m but the box office liked it and it made $624m.

Released in 2012 the story follows the previous film with agents J & K keeping the world protected from the alien forces. Boris an Boglodite (well maybe but I cannot be arse to check) escapes from prison with revenge in mind against agent K who put him in prison and shot one of his arm off. So having got his hands on a time travel gadget thing travels back to the sixties to kill a young agent K and is very successful in his mission. The timelines reset and the world (doesn’t) knows that K was killed in the sixties. Yet J still remembers him and needs to ask permission to travel back in time to try and fix what he thinks is correct. This happens but rather than being welcomed by K, J is arrested and is set to have his mind washed with the flashy light thing. Will J complete his mission and rescue K and himself from K, this resetting the timeline and putting earth back safe from a potential Boglodite (OK I checked and I was right!!!) invasion. Well go watch it and find out.

Lots of special effects, funny lines and funny scenes the usual time ticking away and our hero’s are in all sorts of bother type stuff. Which is all good!! What is wrong with you! This is good not great but good and even the kids will enjoy it too. And I thought for such a long time that Boris was at least based on the Macho Man - Randy Savage but I think that may just me and I probably should not of mentioned that. Ok moving swiftly on is a Jim Carrey movie..
