This 2009 Disney movie is one of the last classic cartoon Disney movies that took approx. $105m to make and then globally made around $270m at the box office. It had the voices only but as they say it starred Anika Noni Rose, Bruno Campos, Keith David, Michael-Leon Wooley, Jennifer Cody, Jim Cummings, Peter Bartlett, Jenifer Lewis, Oprah Winfrey, Terrence Howard, and John Goodman. It was well received by critics with IMDb scoring it 7.1/10, Metracritic 73% and the Tomato even more at 85% which makes the link from the rotten and the mouse stronger.
OK I will need a minimum amount of plot here as it based on the Frog Prince but guess what the main role is played by a female. I won’t go into the whole agenda thing with Disney but as this is an enjoyable movie its allowed. The villain is up there with the best Disney villains of old. I believe he’s called Dr Facilier and he has a great song and has voodoo dolls, covered in skulls. So, he has been elected as my daughter’s favourite Disney villain so that promotes this movie up to 72% score.
It is a good movie although another case of Disney remaking an old movie. I believe this film is underrated in the MOOSIVE Disney cannon and is forgotten among very impressive siblings but it’s worth a watch and has the classic villain to terrify the kids and leave them awake at night but as a cartoon they might well get away with it.
