Guess who’s back in my list again. Bruce Campbell the one the only and stuff of myth and legend is the main star of this 2005 Sci-Fi channel movie. This being back in the good old days when they used to spell Science Fiction this way and not Syence Fyction but who am I to ask why things change. Now cue lots of people reading this telling me that I cannot spell and leave them alone.

This movie stars Bruce Campbell stars as Dr Ian Hood who is an astronaut that along with his companion’s land’s back on a planet earth. They have been in space for 40 years and return back to find earth isn’t quite what they left behind. They land and are captured by human bounty hunters that take them to the actual planets leaders who are bug like creatures. They have taken over the earth and using humans like slaves. They have a small army of people they use to capture other humans to harvest trees with what these bugs need to survive. Spirits lifted by rumours that the president has survived and they plan to escape and go rally troops to start an earth uprising. That is enough of the plot to pique your interest? No? Me neither. What I remember of this film is Bruce leading a group of people across the screen and then lead them back across the other way and then back again.

Even my love of Bruce can’t make me really enjoy this movie. It was not out and out bad but it was not enough for me to fall in love with it. With a film channel fronting up the dough for the project its not completely budget free but there are plenty of the sci-fi CGI elements included in the film which does not completely hinder it but doesn’t completely help it either. There were lots of Xena connections with this film and if you liked that show this is in a similar elk. Same director and co-star Renee O’Connor for example but when you read that it had a reported budget of one and half million dollars which in the grand scheme of things is meniscal it means that I can cut it some more slack than the other dross at this end of my list.

Is it worth watching, yes why not!! but don’t blame me when you hate it!
