In 2007 they (whoever “they” are) decided to follow up 2004 shambles of a movie with a sequel. In my opinion this movie was much improved on the first AVP movie. Although critics may differ but I did find a few crumbs in this movie to enjoy and moved it to the lofty heights of being slightly worse than Ghostbusters 2. IMO!
This film picks up where the last one finished with the predator ship leaving earth only for those pesky aliens to have found a way on board. This makes the ship crash and release a new predator style alien loose on the earth along with some face huggers. I am not sure about how long the huggers can live outside the eggs but they go on a spree of hugging some humans and all hell breaks loose. The creatures conveniently kill those not destined to fall in love even though some were dating before the film starting. The Aliens go on a killing spree whilst another Predator arrives following the distress beacon started by the only survival of the predator ship crash. How did those pesky Aliens survive the crash intact? Who knows but plenty of action follows and a battle of Predator alien and the predator takes place on top of the building before America does what it likes best and blow things up.
This film gets a low score from me and on reflection I may review this low level based against Alien 3 and 4 which is not much better than this film but I think it was too late in my interest of the movies that I loved. I don’t own Prometheus or Alien Covenant and that is through choice. LEAVE THINGS ALONE!!! Once you have something good it can be left as great and people will appreciate it for what it was and what it is & that's a classic. Just because the milk you have been sucking out it has run dry and you need some fresh cash cows to fill the bucket try doing what actually worked before. A new idea that captured people’s imagination and not just extending or stretching something that has already ran its course. The cow is dead try making a new baby cow that can grow into something new and fresh!
